2016 VGMAs without Gospel Album of the Year?  Is this Signal?

The question as to whether Christian musicians should start focusing on their music and ministration rather than filling for nominations for such awards, or having to organize their own is back to the board for discussion.         When some entertainment analysis started the discussion of suspending the “Gospel Album of the Year” to some of us it was not just a rumor but a move that was being planned.

The big question is, is this an attack on Christian music? Or a signal to challenge Christian musicians to do more? The year under review saw quiet a good number of albums within this category, but according to the board they didn’t find enough albums with a minimum of three hits to merit nominations. Do they look for? Or wait for nominations to be filed?? Just asking? And if indeed they were at least able to find two people within this category can’t they still go ahead and put them up for voting?

Well we thank God for the grace period, let’s see if our dear Christian musicians will put in more work or seat up with their input.

Did I hear right? On the move to stop filing nominations for such awards and looking to concentrate on our music. That’s not bad idea, and may be trying to get our arts right, putting more into publicity, mastering our content to more Godly and spirit filled. This will be a great remedy to having people tell us what they think about our music, to having to be blessed listening to them. All is not lost yet as some of our urban guys made it for nomination, could this also be signal for Urban Gospel? And the need for board to start looking into a category for this genre?  As we for see a lot of activities of singles, albums, and some international ministrations.

The sensational gospel trio, Preachers made it for Gospel Artist(s) of the Year, Group of the Year and their music video CRAZY was nominated for Music Video of the Year. Preachers who toured Nairobi Kenya for Kubamba’s Totally Sold Out Concert Vol XI last year. They announced their next concert happening in Canaan, Israel this Easter and the Preachers & Buddies Praise Concert happening in June at the National Theater.PerezPerez who has also been put up for vote for the Unsung category have been very forth coming with some hot singles starting last year. He is said to be one of the urban Gospel musicians with a lot of music a videos to his credit. He has been on his A game also making beats and producing for other urban Gospel guys, with his Tenacity album still making waves.  His new singles includes “ MajieoYi’ and the fresher’s  “Covered” featuring Henry Adams and Revy Highness of Prepaid fame.

So guys grab your phones let’s do it for Christ and for gospel music, come on and lets Rep Urban Gospel music. Vote and vote!!!
