Daily Devotion – THE OVERFLOWING CUP

THE OVERFLOWING CUP

“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over”

– Psalms 23:5

Faced with great challenges, Caroline Gavin wrote: “Though the way be treacherous, the path unclear, my heart ever heavy with trembling, with fear, the ground beneath me rocky and steep; though the peace of rest eludes me at sleep, I will look to You, Your Name I will cry, I will see Your face through tear-stained eye. I will smile again to feel Your hand, I will rest assured in all You planned, I will sing Your praise as You lift me up, I will rejoice to drink Your overflowing cup.” You are the Lord’s precious beloved little sheep, and no enemy will harm you. So, whether in storm or in sunshine, you must release every single fear in you and look up to God for protection. Though you may walk through dark valleys of your life, the Lord is ready to comfort and make your cup overflow with joy. That is why you must fear no evil (Psalms 23:4).

Challenge: Always rejoice to drink God’s overflowing cup.
Prayer: Faithful Father, help me to trust You at all times.
Quote: No enemy will harm you
Futher Reading: Psalms 23:1 – 5.
