Daily Devotion – WATCH YOUR STEPS

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour”

– 1 Peter 5:8

Today, young people are faced with enticement to sin against God. Satan, the devil, is the grand-master luring people to sin. He is ever ready to tempt believers with the aim of bringing down to spiritual ruin. Adam and Eve, in the unwatchful moment, were deceived by the devil. Peter, despite Christ’s warnings, presumed that he will never fall, but, did in a shameful way. Be sober and vigilant because everyone is capable of falling into temptation. Moral decadence, obscene fashions, academic fraud, occultism and other social vices are common on campuses and in the general society. Therefore, be steadfast in your faith. God expects you to be chaste and holy. Flee every appearance of evil, and don’t compromise your faith. To overcome the devil, you must be well grounded in God’s Word and pray daily. Be a faithful witness for the Lord, point other unsaved youths to Christ. Watch, do not give the devil an inch to devour and destroy you. God will keep you.

Challenge: Watch! Do you know that the devil is out to destroy your soul?
Prayer: Lord, help me to diligently watch over my soul.
Quote: Be steadfast in faith
